Heading into September, for me has always been a time of renewal, even more so than New Years resolutions in January. As a child I looked forward to a new school year, the smells of all the new school supplies (yes, I know weird but they do have a smell) pencils, pens, notebooks, all the things. It was a reboot a time to start over getting back to friends you may not have seen over the summer, making new friends & new teachers. Once I was done with school this feeling of new beginnings just stuck. I love fall the cool crisp mornings, warm fires, cozy sweatshirts and vibrant colors as the trees turn. Whatever I let drift away during the summer, yoga, long walks, warm soothing meals all the feels, I bring back into my life. I start to feel more grounded and settled when I get back to my daily and weekly routines. This is the time of year I prep for the chilly months to come. I plan workshops for Bliss and fall outings with my husband…cider mill anyone?
Maybe it’s time to start fresh, learn a new skill, bring back the old.
I started yoga, yoga teacher training, first meditation training, became vegan all in September. For me it seems my fall fresh starts stick more than any New Years resolution I have made in the past.
Give yourself a fresh start as we head into fall, maybe less stress about the winter coming and more excitement over fresh new beginnings.
Let me know in comments if your starting or restarting something new this fall.
